For the second part of his debut collection, new Whyred creative director Jessy Heuvelink delves further into the era-defining dress codes of the 1960’s and 70’s. Influenced by the free spirits of the hippie movement and heydays of rock and roll style icons, Jessy brings you a potpourri of vintage prints and patterns, western details and bohemian silhouettes, all created with his unique eye for a modern wardrobe inspired by classic pieces.
“The clothing is so of the moment, so iconic, that a glance at the garments anchors you instantly to those hedonistic times. But the culture was rooted in a way of living. A way of being with other people. “I want the collection to be the spark for that rebirth. I want to inspire people to reconnect with nature and go out and dance under the apple tree. Awaken your inner ‘Flower Child’,” says Jessy Heuvelink, creative director at Whyred.
Boot cut jeans, variations on peasant blouses, dresses and skirts, chambray and western influences, vintage prints and patterns all blend together in a potpourri of bohemian chic paying homage to the heydays of the hippie movement of the late 1960’s and rock and roll style icons like George Harrison, Stevie Nicks and Jim Morrison. A collection that awakens your inner ‘’Flower Child’’ and makes you want to dance under the starry summer night and reconnect with nature.\
